VAN BUREN - The historic King Opera House has reopened at Van Buren after repairs and renovations following a fire more than a year ago.
The city owns the downtown building. In addition to repairing damage from the blaze, workers also restored the building to something resembling its original splendor.
Mayor Bob Freeman said at a re-opening ceremony that the building was "a diamond in our community."
