The Arkansas Department of Emergency Management said Wednesday that preliminary damage assessments from the recent tornadoes, thunderstorms and flooding will begin Monday for those counties that suffered damages.
ADEM teams will be working with Federal Emergency Management Agency teams to complete the assessments as quickly as possible in order to ask for federal assistance.
These counties are seeking a disaster declaration (as of Thursday): Arkansas, Lee, Boone, Franklin, Marion, St. Francis, Van Buren, Jefferson, Ashley, Drew, Miller, Independence, Randolph, Greene, Lafayette, Columbia, Conway, Lawrence, Sharp, Fulton, Izard, Newton, Johnson, Cleburne, Logan, Scott, Jackson, Poinsett, Perry, Faulkner, Woodruff, White, Pulaski, Saline, Lonoke, Prairie, Monroe, Cross, Grant, Union, Bradley, Chicot, Dallas, Lincoln, Ouachita, Cleveland and Calhoun.
