LITTLE ROCK – The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission has approved the dates for the upcoming waterfowl hunting season.
The commission voted Thursday to approve a 60-day hunting season for waterfowl. Duck season will run Nov. 22 to Nov. 30, and from Dec. 4-Jan. 25, except for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
Waterfowl Program Coordinator Luke Naylor says continued wet conditions are creating a good habitat.
Last season, more than 422,900 mallards were harvested in Arkansas. That was the third-highest waterfowl harvest and highest mallard harvest in the nation last year.
