John Rogers Asks for Dismissal of Brace Suit

1 min read

Last month a process server caught up with North Little Rock sports memorabilia dealer John Rogers at Andre’s Coffee Shop in North Little Rock.

Rogers was handed the lawsuit filed by the heir and former keeper of the George Burke & George Brace Collection of photographic negatives, which Rogers and his Sports Card Plus Inc. of North Little Rock acquired for $1.35 million in 2012.

Mary Brace, daughter of the late George Brace, alleged in the lawsuit filed in Pulaski County Circuit Court that Rogers breached the contract by missing an $85,000 payment that was due on April 1 and that she is still owed $765,000.

Rogers denied the allegations of wrongdoing in his answer, which was filed last week. He also asked that the case be dismissed.

Rogers’ attorney, Hubert Alexander of Jacksonville, couldn’t immediately be reached for comment.

Earlier this month, Rogers was sued by First Arkansas Bank & Trust of Jacksonville, which is attempting to collect $14.2 million.

Rogers hasn’t filed a response in that case.
