Eagle Bank Picks Delta’s Michael Bynum To Lead Conway Expansion

1 min read

It looks like Eagle Bank & Trust of Little Rock scored another employee from Delta Trust & Banking Corp. of Little Rock.

Eagle lured away Michael Bynum, who had been Conway market president for Delta. Bynum joined Delta in 2011 to lead the company’s expansion in the Conway area. (His profile was still on Delta’s website last week, despite the fact that Delta was acquired by Simmons First National Corp. of Pine Bluff on the last day of August.)

Now Bynum, whose title is executive vice president and president of the Faulkner County market, will be leading Eagle’s expansion into the Conway market, said Jeff Lynch, president and CEO of Eagle Bank.

Lynch said Eagle plans to open a full-service branch in Conway.

“We are looking for real estate now,” Lynch said. “Of course, it’s all pending regulatory approval for the branch.”

He said Eagle will either purchase a building and move in or “start looking for space as a temporary site until we can get something built.”

Lynch said he expects a decision to be made in “the near future” on the Conway location.

Eagle is in growth mode. We told you last week that eight employees of what had been Delta Trust Mortgage Inc. had left Simmons to join Eagle.

“Our business — it’s all about having the right people,” Lynch said.
