Ben E. Keith Names Yvette Parker New Marketing Manager (Movers & Shakers)

Yvette Parker has been named marketing manager for the mid-south division of Ben E. Keith Foods in North Little Rock. For the past year, Parker had worked as a marketing consultant for the Texas-based company.

Education

Gwen Green, communications co-ordinator for the Arkansas Small Business & Technology Development Center at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, was named the “State Star” for Arkansas at the Small Business Development Center’s 34th annual conference held last month at Grapevine, Texas. Green joined the ASBTDC in 2008.

Insurance

Marc Verbos has been named vice president of business development for the Little Rock office of AimcoR Group, a national marketing organization that specializes in the distribution of insurance and financial service products. He was previously a managing director of The ASA Group of Little Rock.

Nonprofits

Cindy Jones-Nyland has been promoted to chief marketing officer for Heifer International in Little Rock. She was hired two years ago as executive vice president of marketing and resource development, having previously worked for Lifeblue Media in Dallas and for Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Four people were recently named vice presidents at Heifer: Kim Ahlgrim, vice president of risk management and assurance; Michelle Dusek-Izaguirre, vice president of marketing and resource development operations; Hilary Haddigan, vice president of planning and enterprise effectiveness; and Julie Wood, vice president of human resources strategy and operations.

Legal

Mary-Tipton Thalheimer has joined Quattlebaum Grooms Tull & Burrow PLLC as an associate and will focus her practice on debtor and creditor rights and bankruptcy. Thalheimer is a graduate of Washington & Lee University and the University of Arkansas at Little Rock’s Bowen School of Law. She had been a staff attorney for U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Richard D. Taylor since 2012.

Health Care

Dr. David E. Connor Jr. recently joined Neurosurgery Arkansas on the Baptist Health Medical Center campus in Little Rock. Connor earned his medical degree from the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Pennsylvania and completed his internship and residency at Louisiana State University-Health Sciences Center in Shreveport. He is a member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons.

Anna Strong has joined Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock in the newly created position of executive director of child advocacy and public health. She previously served as health care policy director at Arkansas Advocates for Children & Families and as senior policy analyst for the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences’ Center for Rural Health.
