Grub’s Bar & Grille Expands to Fort Smith

1 min read

Fort Smith lost MarketPlace Grill but is gaining a Grub’s Bar & Grille in its place.

Grub’s, which has two restaurants in Fayetteville and one in Rogers, will open in leased quarters at 8302 Phoenix Ave. in early 2015. It will take over space that MarketPlace occupied for 13 years.

MarketPlace Grill closed its Fort Smith location in early August to concentrate on its Little Rock expansion. The 8,216-SF building on 1.4 acres was owned by Benefit Bank of Fort Smith.

The bank, through its Benefit Development Corp., sold the property for slightly more than $1.4 million to 8302 Phoenix LLC, led by Brian Richards of Richards Commercial Real Estate of Fort Smith.

Bob Cooper of R.H. Ghan & Cooper Commercial Properties of Fort Smith represented the bank. Richards said the transition to Grub’s shouldn’t take more than 90 days.
