1 min read

LITTLE ROCK – The dean of the Fay W. Boozman College of Public Health and his wife have pledged a planned estate gift of $1 million to the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.

The donation from Jim Raczynski and Martha Phillips will establish the Raczynski Phillips Bruce Chair in Social Determinants of Health.

The gift was made in honor of the college’s inaugural dean, Thomas A. Bruce, and his late wife, Dolores.

UAMS has 2,890 students and 782 medical residents and has more than 10,000 employees – including about 1,000 doctors and other professionals who treat patients at UAMS, Arkansas Children’s Hospital, the VA Medical Center and UAMS regional centers throughout the state.
