LITTLE ROCK – Ron Maxwell has been named deputy tourism director for the Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism.
The department made the announcement Tuesday. Maxwell joins the department after serving as the governor’s mansion administrator for the entirety of previous Gov. Mike Beebe’s term.
As deputy tourism director, Maxwell will coordinate efforts for the annual Arkansas Governor’s Conference on Tourism and will serve as Great River Road Director.
Before the 2006 election, Maxwell worked for the Arkansas General Assembly coordinating the 2004 Southern Legislative Conference. He was government relations director during Secretary of State Sharon Priest’s term and served for six years as communications director for the Democratic Party of Arkansas.
Maxwell is a native of North Little Rock.
