Mark Pryor Takes Job with Venable

1 min read

LITTLE ROCK – Former U.S. Sen. Mark Pryor is taking a job with a Washington law firm’s government affairs practice, months after the Democrat lost his bid for a third term representing Arkansas.

Venable LLC announced Monday that Pryor would split his time between an office he’ll open in downtown Little Rock and the firm’s Washington office. Pryor planned to continue living in Arkansas, and would focus on areas such as cybersecurity, consumer protection and agriculture.

Pryor is a former state attorney general who was first elected to the Senate in 2002. He lost his re-election bid in November to Republican challenger and then-U.S. Rep. Tom Cotton. Pryor said in a statement provided by the firm that he was excited about the new job.
