1 min read

The managing director of Fortress Investment Group Inc. has been named chief financial officer of Communications Sales & Leasing Inc., the planned spinoff real estate investment trust of Windstream Holdings Inc., the company announced on Monday.

Mark Wallace, whose appointment is effective April 1, will also hold the titles of senior vice president and treasurer.

Kenny Gunderman, the president and CEO of CS&L, said in a statement that he was “delighted” that Wallace was joining the company.

“He is a seasoned CFO with extensive REIT and capital markets experience, and I look forward to working with him to continue building our team and our business,” Gunderman said.

Wallace was CFO and treasurer of New Senior Investment Group Inc., a senior housing REIT at Fortress. He also worked on a health care REIT called HCP Inc.

Wallace has also served as senior vice president, CFO and treasurer at Westwood Holdings Group Inc. and worked for 11 years at Arthur Anderson.

The Windstream board gave final approval for the REIT spinoff on Thursday. The decision to spin off certain network assets into the REIT was announced in July.

The company also said the spinoff will be listed as CSAL on the Nasdaq exchange.
