Oxane Materials Facing More Heat from Lawsuits

1 min read

Oxane Materials of Houston is facing another lawsuit in Arkansas.

You might remember that the Arkansas Economic Development Commission is suing Oxane to recoup money the company received to create jobs at a facility in Van Buren. The company, which manufactures proppants used in hydraulic fracturing, closed that facility in January, eliminating about 70 jobs.

Now Thermal Specialties Construction Services LLC of Tulsa has filed suit in Crawford County Circuit Court, alleging that it wasn’t paid for work it performed for Oxane.

According to the complaint, Oxane owes Thermal Specialties $261,962 for various jobs it performed at the facility. Thermal Specialties describes itself on its website as a “single-source provider for high-temperature thermal processing applications.”

Oxane hasn’t responded to the lawsuit, which was filed March 30, or the AEDC complaint.

AEDC’s attorney said in its complaint that Oxane owes the state $260,000.
