TAC Air to Build New Terminal at Little Rock Airport

2 min read

TAC Air Inc. Dallas said Monday that it will build a new terminal at the Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport in Little Rock, part of an $11 million redevelopment and expansion project it is undertaking there.

Arkansas Business wrote about TAC Air’s redevelopment plan in February. In addition to upgrading facilities, the fixed-base operator with Arkansas roots will donate more than 40 acres as part of a long-term operational agreement with the Little Rock Municipal Airport Commission.

On Monday, TAC Air said its new executive terminal will be located next to its North Terminal, where the company consolidated operations after acquiring the FBO services of Central Flying Service in February.

In August, the company acquired the Little Rock operations of Supermarine.

The facility will include a conference room, pilot lounge, flight planning area and passenger waiting. It will also boast a theater room, outdoor patio and pilot rest areas. The company expects the project to be complete by spring 2016.

Once the new terminal is operational, the company plans to demolish the North Terminal to make way for more hangar space.

In a news release, TAC Air said TAC Air Vice President and COO Christian Sasfai and General Manager Kip Simanek will work on the redevelopment project with architect Jerry Herndon, who designed TAC Air’s executive terminal at Lexington, Kentucky.

TAC Air employs more than 700 in its operations at 14 airports: Amarillo, Texas; Denver; Fort Smith; Hartford, Connecticut; Knoxville, Tennessee; Lexington, Kentucky; Little Rock; Omaha, Nebraska; Provo, Utah; Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina; St. Louis; Salt Lake City; Shreveport; and Texarkana.
