Tech Park Board Chooses WDD Architects for Phase 1 of Project

2 min read

The Little Rock Technology Park Authority Board has selected Wittenberg Delony & Davidson as the architect for the first phase of the tech park, planned for the Main Street corridor in downtown Little Rock.

The Little Rock firm will partner with Gaudreau Inc. of Baltimore, which has experience in science and research parks in downtown areas across the country.

Phase 1 of the project will include the renovation of the Exchange Bank Annex Building at 417 Main, which will serve as the anchor of the park. The tech park board is in negotiations to acquire several properties along Main Street for the park.

Now that the board has selected an architect, Tech Park Director Brent Birch and a board appointee will negotiate a contract between the board and the firm. The board will have to approve the final agreement.

Birch said other members of the WDD team include these Little Rock firms:

  • Batson Inc. Engineering Solutions (mechanical plumbing and electrical)
  • Engineering Consultants Inc. (structural)
  • McClelland Consulting Engineers (civil and environmental)

Board Chairman Mary Good said WDD presented a well-rounded team and noted its relationship with Gaudreau.

“We look forward to getting phase 1 of the park off the ground,” she said in a news release.

Tech park offices currently reside at 107 East Markham in downtown Little Rock in space shared with the Venture Center.

“Last year’s decision by the board of directors to locate the tech park in downtown Little Rock will prove to be transformative, said Glenn Woodruff, WDD director of business development. “As a result, the core of our city has a renewed energy that will deliver a previously unimagined prosperity.”
