Millennials Rising as Biggest Share of Workforce

1 min read

The millennial generation earlier this year passed Generation X to become the largest share of the U.S. workforce, the Pew Research Center says.

More than one-third of American workers, 53.5 million, are millennials, which Pew defines as adults 18 to 34 in 2015. Millennials last year passed the baby-boom generation in their share of the labor force.

“With its disproportionately large share of immigrants, and at an age of transition from college to the working world, the Millennial generation’s workforce is highly likely to grow even further in the near future,” Pew said.
