KTHV-TV, Channel 11, made gains against its competitors during the May ratings period, according to the most recent Nielsen Media Research figures shared with Arkansas Business.
KTHV led all other competitors during its morning news shows at 5 a.m. and 6 a.m. and tied KATV-TV, Channel 7, at 10 p.m. The figures represented an improvement over last year’s numbers and the February ratings period when KATV swept all the competitive slots.
KATV retained its hold in the afternoon, edging out its competitors at 5 p.m. and 6 p.m., according to the Nielsen figures.
Allan Snyder, KATV’s promotions director, said in a statement that “Thousands of Arkansans turn to Channel 7 every day for the best coverage of news, weather, and sports. We thank the viewers of Arkansas for a strong May ratings period.”
KARK-TV, Channel 4, and KLRT-TV, Channel 16, do not subscribe to the Nielsen ratings or comment on them.
Michael Caplan, the general manager of KTHV, said, “We continue to work hard to provide the best product possible to the market and are thrilled to see this resonating in the numbers.”
