Murphy Oil Makes Executive Changes

1 min read

Murphy Oil Corp. of El Dorado on Tuesday named Kelly L. Whitley its new vice president for investor relations and communications.

Whitley replaces Barry Jeffrey, who is moving to a new role of vice president for insurance, security and risk, the company announced in a news release.

President and CEO Roger Jenkins said in the news release that the changes were part of a continuing focus on organizational efficiency and reduced expenses.

“To this end, we have recently restructured our organization and have combined the roles of insurance, risk management and security. This new role spans across the entire organization and Barry is well-suited to lead us forward with his broad experience across all of our business segments. Kelly brings years of experience to the investor relations and communications role and I look forward to her contributions going forward.”

Whitley, who has 20 years of experience in investor relations and communications for exploration, production and oilfield services companies, will report directly to Jenkins.

Jeffery, who has been with the company since 1986 and has held positions in upstream and downstream divisions, will report to executive vice president and general counsel Walter Compton. Jeffery had been vice president for investor relations since 2013.

Murphy Oil (NYSE: MUR) will hold its second-quarter earnings call on Thursday at noon.
