Sean Rochelle to Leave Executive Director Post at Razorback Foundation

Sean Rochelle is stepping down from his post as executive director of the Razorback Foundation Inc., effective Sept. 1, according to a statement from the foundation on Thursday.

Rochelle, who has been with the foundation since 2008 and executive director since February 2013, will become the new executive director of Vold Vision PLLC, a private ophthalmology practice headquartered in Fayetteville, the foundation said.

The foundation did not name a successor.

“We are appreciative of the outstanding leadership Sean has provided the Razorback Foundation throughout his tenure,” Jeff Long, the University of Arkansas’ athletic director, said in a statement. “We are grateful for Sean’s long-standing dedication and work in connecting Razorback Foundation members with opportunities to make a difference in the lives of the young men and women competing at the University of Arkansas.”

Rochelle took over the executive director post after the foundation’s previous leader, Chris Wyrick, left to to become the UA’s vice chancellor for advancement.

On Thursday, Rochelle said his opportunity at Vold Vision is “unique, challenging, and exciting.”

“In my new role as executive director of Vold Vision, I have the chance to be part of building a scalable business that seeks to create a new level of service for eye care,” he said. “I look forward to partnering with Dr. Vold and the entire team at Vold Vision to serve those who seek our assistance in obtaining eye care that can lead to a positive difference.”

The foundation said that during Rochelle’s time as director, it recorded “the two highest annual fund totals in the organization’s history,” and membership grew to a record of more than 14,500.

In 2014-15, the Razorback Foundation and Razorback Athletics combined to raise a record total of more than $47 million, the foundation said.
