DENVER – Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee in 2014 earned nearly $1 million from giving speeches and nearly $3 million from a publishing company that he runs, according to financial records the Republican presidential filed Friday with federal regulators.

The records show that Huckabee gave 44 paid speeches between January 2014 and last April, earning between $10,000 and $32,000 for each. Most were delivered to religious groups, such as the North Alabama Fellowship of Christian Athletes to Pregnancy Help 4 U in Keller, Texas.

Huckabee also listed $2.9 million in income from what he described as a publishing company, of which he is president. Huckabee is the author of several best-selling books.

Huckabee, a former Baptist minister, lists assets worth as much as $14 million in addition to his seven-figure income, including a pair of vacation rental houses worth up to $1 million each.

A campaign spokeswoman did not respond to inquiries about Huckabee’s finances.
