THV Morning Anchor Ashley Blackstone Headed Home to South Carolina

1 min read

KTHV Morning Anchor Ashley Blackstone is leaving Little Rock for the low country, specifically her hometown of Charleston, South Carolina.

Blackstone confirmed to Arkansas Business that she’s set to become a new anchor/reporter at WCIV, the ABC affiliate in Charleston. Blackstone’s last day at THV will be Sept. 25.

Earlier this month, the station announced that Blackstone was leaving her position as anchor of its market-leading “THV11 This Morning.”

Blackstone joined THV in 2006 and was promoted to morning anchor in 2011. In addition to anchoring the morning show, she handled features and did investigative reporting for THV.

In 2008, Blackstone received an Emmy for her work on THV’s documentary of the 20th anniversary of the West Memphis Three case. She also won several regional Edward R. Murrow awards while at Channel 11.

“We’re proud of all that Ashley accomplished here, from reporting to anchoring Arkansas’ leading morning show,” THV News Director Dave Parker said in a news release.

Blackstone, who became known for her support of the Razorbacks, cited the opportunity to be closer to family.
