Lyn Pruitt Named Director of International Association of Defense Counsel

Lyn Pruitt, partner at Mitchell Williams Selig Gates & Woodyard PLLC in Little Rock, was named director of the International Association of Defense Counsel’s 2017 Trial Academy.

The academy is one of the country’s oldest and most respected programs for developing defense trial advocacy skills.

As director of the 2017 Trial Academy, Pruitt will plan and execute the program, which will be in its 45th year.

The Trial Academy was initiated by the association in 1973 and is held at Stanford Law School. The director and faculty members are comprised of top defense trial attorneys from across the country.

Pruitt joined Mitchell Williams in 1986 and has been a member since 1990. She focuses her practice on litigation, products cases, consumer class actions and toxic tort matters with particular emphasis in drug and medical device cases. 

Pruitt has served as liaison counsel and trial counsel for national hormone therapy litigation and lead trial counsel for numerous pharmaceutical and medical device companies. She has acted as lead trial counsel in numerous class action cases, including both state and proposed national classes, involving class awards valued from $10 million to $500 million dollars.

Pruitt graduated summa cum laude from Ouachita Baptist University before graduating from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock School of Law with honors. She is a Fellow of the International Academy of Trial Lawyers, Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America and a member of IADC.
