Wal-Mart Expands Online Grocery Pickup in NWA

1 min read

Wal-Mart is expanding its online grocery pickup test in the northwest Arkansas area to include five Neighborhood Market stores in Fayetteville, Springdale, Rogers and Bentonville.

Customers using the free service will be able to order groceries online and pick them up at a participating store without having to get out of their cars.

Beginning Wednesday, customers can shop online and schedule a pickup time on or after Sept. 23 at any participating stores.

Currently, the only pickup location in northwest Arkansas is located at 3701 S.E. Dodson Road in Bentonville, where service began last September.

The five new locations are:

  • Fayetteville, 2690 East Citizens Drive
  • Springdale, 4900 Jennifer Terrace
  • Rogers, 808 West Walnut (opens Sept. 23)
  • Bentonville, 1703 East Central Avenue
  • Bentonville, 1400 North Walton Boulevard

“Right now this is just a test phase,” Wal-Mart Director of Corporate Communications John Forrest Ales said. “It’s been really well received so far and we’re getting lots of feedback. We are always listening to our customers.”

Customers can shop online for nearly 10,000 grocery items and consumables, including fresh meat, dairy, produce and common household items and schedule the pickup time that works best for them.

The locations will offer designated parking spaces for online grocery pickup customers and Wal-Mart personal shoppers will deliver groceries to customers’ vehicles.

According to Ales, Wal-Mart is continuing to explore new ways to make shopping easier by blending its digital and physical assets.
