The number of homes sold in November in Arkansas increased by more than 4 percent compared to November 2014, according to a report distributed Thursday by the Arkansas Realtors Association.
But the average price of the homes sold in the 43-county area surveyed by the association increased by less than 1 percent in November. It increased from $154,906 in November 2014 to $155,768 in November 2015.
Statewide valuations in November increased by more than 4 percent from last year.
Among the top five markets for home sales in November, Washington County saw the biggest gain, up 20 percent with 215 homes sold. Pulaski County sales were up 7 percent to 325, and Faulkner County was up 3 percent to 99.
Faulkner County was down 5.2 percent to 109, and Benton County was down 5.5 percent to 342.
Through November, Benton County had sold the most units in 2015, at 4,837, up more than 11 percent from the same period the previous year. But of the top five counties with most units sold for the year, Washington County has shown the most growth, with a more than 16 percent increase year-over-year.
Washington County also showed the largest increase in highest average prices for the year, up more than 5 percent from the same period in 2014.
Benton County had the highest average prices for the year to date 2015 at $202,534.
