Hot Springs Parade Organizers Ask for No Political Signs

1 min read

HOT SPRINGS – Organizers of a St. Patrick’s Day parade in Hot Springs have asked political candidates and their supporters to leave campaign signs at home.

Steve Arrison, CEO of Visit Hot Springs and one of the parade organizers, says he hopes that everyone will be courteous to spectators at the nonpartisan event by refraining from blocking their view with political signs.

The Sentinel-Record reports that Hot Springs Mayor Ruth Carney hung a sign from the former Citizens National Bank Building during the parade in 2014 as a declaration of her candidacy and support of local tourism.

Visit Hot Springs also requested that the public refrain from displaying political signs at its Running of the Tubs in 2010.
