1 min read

Tyson Foods Inc. of Springdale named Jason Nichol as its senior vice president in charge of Wal-Mart operations.

Nichol will work with Wal-Mart leaders to expand Tyson’s business as well as overseeing areas such as animal health and sustainability, the company said.

Nichol joined Hillshire Brands in 2014 and was vice president of its Walmart Consumer Brands division when Tyson acquired Hillshire for $8.5 billion.

At Tyson, Nichol was vice president of its Walmart Fresh division before being promoted.

“We’re very pleased to announce the promotion of Jason to yet another leadership position,” said Tyson Chief Customer Officer Scott Rouse. “He has a strong track record of driving position business results at Walmart for companies such as Nabsico, Cott Beverages and the Scotts Miracle-Gro Co., and I know he will continue that legacy of excellence for Tyson Foods.”
