Pathagility Gains San Antonio Lab as New Client

2 min read

Pathagility of Conway announced Tuesday that pharmacogenetic testing lab Advanced Genomics of San Antonio will use its lab information management system and reporting solution to streamline operations.

Pharmacogenetics refers to the study of how individual patients metabolize and respond to certain drugs and treatments.

Advanced Genomics said Pathagility met its need for a system and solution that would ensure legal compliance while generating meaningful customized reports for physicians and patients.

Mark McCuin, founder and president of Pathagility, told Arkansas Business its system would manage the laboratory’s workflow, patient and facility data; and help it offer more testing by integrating the technologies of labs it partners with.

He didn’t disclose the amount of revenue that would be gained from the new client but said Advanced Genomics is growing in its field and Pathagility would help it continue on that path.

The lab was established in 2014 and served more than 10,000 patients in its first year, according to a news release.

“We couldn’t be happier to partner with labs like Advanced Genomics who are growing quickly in the marketplace, but above all, care immensely about the physicians and end patients they serve,” McCuin said.

“Advanced Genomics is using Pathagility in profound ways by creating various processes unique to each of their panels and tests, along with the tests run by their lab partners,” he said. “This helps to save costs, reduce manual labor and integrate technologies across the lab. The partnership that Pathagility and Advanced Genomics have created is special, and we’re excited to continue scaling and helping each other grow.”

Mike Moran, CEO of Advanced Genomics, said in the release, “From keeping track of samples, sending the test and panel data to Pathagility’s solution, to interpretation and reporting data in meaningful ways for physicians and patients, Pathagility acts as the epicenter and is irreplaceable to our team.”

He also said the two have the same values, which include always putting the patients’ care first.
