1 min read

EL DORADO – Nearly $10 million in economic development funding has been approved for a planned arts and entertainment district in downtown El Dorado.

The El Dorado Works Board – which was formerly known as the El Dorado Economic Development Board – approved $9.47 million on Tuesday for El Dorado Festivals and Events Inc. The organization is planning an $80 million entertainment district that will include performance venues, a restaurant, an art gallery, an amphitheater and a children’s play area.

The El Dorado News-Times reports that $52 million has been raised so far for the project. The funding approved Tuesday comes from an economic development tax approved by voters.
