The urgent care chain MedExpress of Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, is continuing its march across the state with its 15th location opening in Pine Bluff on Wednesday.
MedExpress began opening centers in Arkansas in 2014 and has locations across the state including Cabot, Fort Smith, North Little Rock and Rogers.
But the Pine Bluff location might be the last one — at least for now.
“At this time, we do not have any additional center openings to announce in Arkansas,” Annie Jamieson, a spokeswoman for MedExpress, said in an email to Arkansas Business. “But we are always evaluating the health care needs of the community and look forward to providing friendly, convenient and affordable care where it is needed.”
Urgent care centers are promoted as providing treatment that is both less expensive and faster than hospital emergency rooms.
MedExpress’ centers are open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., seven days a week with no appointment necessary. In addition to offering urgent care, it also provides other services, such as sports physicals.
