Unity Revs Up Passion, Growth at RevUnit

3 min read

Bentonville-born RevUnit provides the latest in digital technology including websites, mobile apps, live digital and the strategies to help them operate at their most productive.

But the heart of the firm’s operating principles is decidedly more old-fashioned: hire the best people, show them a path to contribution and success, then work every day to refine and strengthen the team concept.

“The team is core to everything we do at RevUnit,” said Seth Waite, chief marketing officer. “It’s why there’s the word ‘unit’ in RevUnit which we believe in ‘revving’ and empowering. We can do that because RevUnit is filled with talented, engaged and compassionate team members, resulting in high functioning, top-performance teams who trust each other as they take on new challenges with excitement and anticipation.”

What’s more remarkable, this wholehearted, team-first mentality is balanced with elements that are surprisingly flexible. Employees have the freedom to determine when they work and where to better accommodate personal obligations that interfere with the regular 9-to-5 structure.

Waite said this reflects management’s commitment to doing what’s right and as such sets the example for employees to follow. It’s just one of the company’s values, right up there with “Be Fearless” and “Be a Little Better, All the Time.”

“We believe strongly in our value-based organization. We live and die by the values all of us contributed to creating,” Waite said. “It’s the fact that we don’t just talk about our values, but we hire, work and reward using them. They live outside of just the leadership team and are infused into each team member.”

Neat Things We Do
• Flexible vacation policy allows employees to take it as they need it; there are no quotas or systems.
• Ability to travel and work remotely at times, from China to Paris.
• Fully paid health insurance.
• “Hackations” where work pays for employees to travel to a new location to work and gain new experiences with team members.
• Weekly management one-on-ones with every employee.
• Company-wide messaging system allows for open and transparent communication by company leadership, teams and between every employee. This cuts out email and improves communication through real-time connectivity.
• All Hands meetings twice a year with focused time on employee needs, emotional intelligence and community service. RevUnit Council also discusses these needs from their team members during weekly standups.

RevUnit’s performance shows that they’re on to something. The company has demonstrated year-over-year growth of 95 percent for the past four years and just added a Dallas office to its field locations in Las Vegas and St. Louis. Clients include Walmart, AutoZone, Virgin Hotels and other well-known brands.

“RevUnit is friendly, personable and tight-knit. We don’t exclude anyone and appreciate the strengths of each individual. From the inception of the business to the success of our teams, we’ve always cared most about solving big problems together.” — Seth Waite, chief marketing officer

For all of this success, Waite said the most telling statistic is the 96 percent of employees who would strongly recommend RevUnit to friends and family as a place to work.

“We always say, ‘Teamwork makes the dream work,’ ” he said. “We strongly believe when you work with talented people you love, going to work isn’t work, especially when the organization and leadership gives every employee their best chance for success. A best place to work is one of these places.”
