Tyson Foods Board Member Resigns

1 min read

Tyson Foods Inc. of Springdale announced on Monday that Brad Sauer is stepping down from its board of directors after nine years. His resignation is effective immediately.

There are no plans yet to add another director.

“We’ll miss his insight and his commitment to helping develop our leaders and growing our company responsibly,” Chairman John Tyson said in a news release.

Sauer said now is the ideal time for him to step down.

“Our new CEO and leadership team are in place, the company’s go-forward strategy is set and we have outstanding new directors who have joined our experienced board,” he said. “I have no doubt the company’s success will continue under their leadership …”

He also said in the release that he was looking forward to spending more time with his family and on “other activities.”

Sauer was previously an executive for 3M, most recently serving as an executive vice president of the company’s industrial business group before retiring in 2014.

Tyson Foods said it is continually looking at board candidates with diverse backgrounds and experiences and would consider adding another director with the right mix of those qualities.
