Tom Hayes, president and CEO of Tyson Foods Inc. of Springdale, will headline the Arkansas Economic Development Foundation Luncheon on April 18 at the Statehouse Convention Center in Little Rock.

The luncheon will be held from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. in the Wally Allen Ballroom. Gov. Asa Hutchinson is expected to attend.

Hayes was appointed to the CEO post in December and previously led all operations and commercial functions as president of the company. He joined Tyson Foods in 2014, when it acquired Hillshire Brands.

Hayes has nearly 30 years of experience, including roles with Sara Lee North America, Sara Lee Foodservice, ConAgra Foods, The Fort James Corporation, Stella Foods and Kraft Foods.

“The foundation is honored to have Tom Hayes share his vision for the future growth and innovation of Tyson Foods,” Gus Vratsinas, AEDF President, said in a news release.

The luncheon is a joint event by the AEDF and the Arkansas Industrial and Economic Development Foundation. Corporate partner sponsors for the luncheon include Tyson Foods, Entergy, Wal-Mart Stores Inc. and Stephens Inc.
