1 min read

Heart of Arkansas United Way announced on Tuesday that Lynn Pharr, a native Arkansan with 30 years of experience in nonprofit leadership, is its new president and CEO

Selected following a national search, she replaces John Nazzaro, who was president and CEO for 19 years. He announced his retirement last year.

Pharr most recently served as the vice president of resource development for the United Way of the Plains in Wichita, Kansas. Before that, she was president and CEO for the United Way of Greater Richmond and Petersburg in Richmond, Virginia.

Pharr also served a two-year term as the national director of crisis preparedness, response and recovery for United Way Worldwide in Alexandria, Virginia.

United Way said she has helped provide support to communities affected by Hurricane Katrina, mudslides in West Virginia, wildfires in California and the Virginia Tech shootings.

Board Chair Cooper Meeks, vice president of investments at Wells Fargo Advisors, said in a news release, “We look forward to working with her as we continue to focus on the causes that make our community a better place to live, work and grow.”
