Redesign of LittleRock.com Coming Soon

2 min read

Readers who remember the Little Rock Convention & Visitors Bureau’s contract with marketing firm Team SI for a website overhaul have been asking when they might see it.

The deal was struck nearly 11 months ago.

Well, the “complete redesign” is likely to appear in June, LRCVB President and CEO Gretchen Hall reports.

“We’re well into the process. Our internal marketing team has been meeting regularly with Team SI, and we’re getting real close,” she told Whispers on Thursday.

She expects a responsive site designed “for all mobile devices.” About 60 percent of traffic on the site, LittleRock.com, is mobile. “The update is going to give us bigger imagery, with a big focus on those devices.”

The site’s web services are now provided by Aristotle Inc. of Little Rock.

New technology will allow the bureau to focus on “specific personas,” Hall said. “If I am a person who is constantly surfing the web for outdoor adventure or shopping for outdoor equipment, when I go to outdoor activities on the website, the next time go to the site outdoor activities will populate and capture that. It will allow customization for the individual user.”

The LRCVB, funded primarily by hotel and restaurant taxes, hopes for increased site traffic and greater awareness about Little Rock. It also hopes users “stay on the site longer and learn more about the city,” Hall said. “Of course, ultimately the goal is for more of them to visit.”

Julie C. Robbins, who is leading the Team SI effort and has attended all of the meetings with LRCVB officials, according to Hall, wanted to check with Lannie Byrd, Team SI’s innovation & digital change leader, before commenting.

Byrd, who seemed excited by the project, said he couldn’t discuss it without the client’s consent, and he wasn’t able to reach Hall by press time Thursday.
