Jech Family Donates $250K to Arkansas Children's Northwest

The Arkansas Children's Foundation on Monday announced that Vicki and Gary Jech of Springdale and their family donated $250,000 to Arkansas Children's Northwest, which is set to open in January in Springdale.

The gift honors the Jechs' eight grandchildren and the care their first granddaughter, Peyton Keeling. Peyton underwent two heart surgeries at Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock before the age of 5 and has also received care from its Autism Multispecialty Clinic.

In recognition of the gift, a waiting area will be named for the Jechs. The area will be used by the families of and patients needing diagnostic testing, including EEG, EKG and echocardiogram services.

The $167 million, 230,000-SF hospital is being built on 37 acres of donated land on Interstate 49 between Don Tyson Parkway and Highway 412, across from Arvest Ballpark. The project is expected to create 250 new jobs.

It is being designed by Polk Stanley Wilcox Architects of Fayetteville and Little Rock and FKP Architects of Houston. Nabholz Construction is overseeing construction.
