LittleRock.com Redesign Still Waiting to RefreshLock Icon

2 min read

You may recall that the Little Rock Convention & Visitors Bureau was predicting four months ago that a “complete redesign” of its website would be ready in June, more than a year after the bureau struck a deal with Team SI. (See Redesign of LittleRock.com Coming Soon.)

But June has come and gone, along with July, and as of Thursday the site, LittleRock.com, still appeared much the same and still said its web services are provided by Aristotle Inc. of Little Rock.

So we at Whispers thought we’d check in with Gretchen Hall, LRCVB’s president and CEO, as well as with Lannie Byrd, chief operating officer of Team SI, an affiliate of Mangan Holcomb Partners, the major Little Rock marketing firm.

Hall said web watchers may wait a little longer. It turns out that an ambitious launch of a site designed “for all mobile devices” takes some time to roll out.

“Obviously the review process has taken longer than we anticipated as we review the test site, report any issues and SI’s development team addresses the issues before we launch the site live,” Hall said. “Because we will have an all new back-end content management system, our team has been working to update our various listing information and photography for restaurants, hotels, attractions and shopping simultaneously with the website review process.”

Byrd had not responded to an email by press time Thursday.

Hall said she could not offer a definitive date, but that the consensus at a review meeting two weeks ago was that “only a few more weeks” were needed. “Progress is being made.”
