1 min read

KATV’s “Good Afternoon Arkansas” will have a Harding University graduate on its team when the new live news and lifestyles program makes its debut Tuesday, the day after Labor Day.

Ansley Watson, the ABC affiliate’s newest reporter, started on Monday at Channel 7, News Director Nick Genty told Arkansas Business. She will join hosts Elicia Dover and longtime weather anchor Barry Brandt on the 3 p.m. weekday telecast.

“Nick Popham also joined us a few weeks ago from Sioux City, Iowa,” Genty said.

Watson is a 2015 graduate of Harding, in Searcy, and comes to Little Rock from WLUC in Marquette, Michigan, where she was a morning reporter and multimedia journalist.

Popham, a 2015 graduate of California State University, Northridge, is a diehard Los Angeles sports fan who signed on at KATV as a general assignment reporter after getting his professional start at KMEG/KPTH in Sioux City, Iowa. His resume includes internships for “60 Minutes” at CBS in New York and at Fox Sports Radio in Sherman Oaks, California.
