You may have heard that Democratic state Rep. Clarke Tucker recently announced that he’s running for the U.S. House seat occupied by Republican French Hill.

But did you know that Tucker, 37, is no longer at the Little Rock law firm, Quattlebaum Grooms & Tull PLLC, where he had practiced since 2008?

Tucker said he left the firm about three weeks ago to focus on his run for the House seat that represents central Arkansas.

“It was my decision” to leave, Tucker said.

“I had two full-time jobs and couldn’t do both and run for Congress. It was the best for everybody.”

The University of Arkansas School of Law graduate said he’s not practicing law at the moment.

Tucker was a member of Quattlebaum and his practice area included commercial litigation, defamation cases and those involving the Freedom of Information Act.

Gwendolynn Combs and Paul Spencer also have said they are running as Democrats to unseat Hill.

The primary election is set for May 22.
