Winrock Hires New Hub Director

Winrock International announced Wednesday the appointment of Chris Jones, Ph.D, as executive director and lead maker of the nonprofit Arkansas Regional Innovation Hub in North Little Rock, effective Monday.

Winrock and the Hub merged in 2016.

Jones replaces Joel Gordon, who resigned in FebruaryErrin Stanger, director of programs, events and membership, had been serving as the Hub's interim director. 

Jones holds five degrees: a bachelor's in mathematics and a bachelor's in physics from Morehouse College; a master's in nuclear engineering; a master's in technology and policy; and a Ph.D. in urban studies and planning, all from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

He has served as executive director of the Dudley Street Neighborhood Initiative in Boston, as principal at BCT partners and as assistant dean for graduate education at MIT.

Jones is also a native of Pine Bluff.
