P.A.M. Executives Get Pay Boost in 2017

Both named executive officers of P.A.M. Transportation Services Inc. of Tontitown saw total compensation rebound last year, according to the company’s proxy statement, filed Tuesday.

Daniel H. Cushman, president and CEO, received total compensation of about $2.5 million, up from $867,821 in 2016. Cushman’s base salary was $565,448, but he also received $1.6 million in stock awards and a $240,000 bonus.

Allen W. West, the firm’s vice president of finance, chief financial officer, secretary and treasurer, received total compensation of $571,120, up from $300,099 in 2016. His base salary was $311,702, and he received a $250,013 bonus.

The company reported income for 2017 of $38.9 million, up from $11.1 million in 2016. The boost was driven by a $24.2 million benefit from the federal tax cuts approved by Congress late last year. Annual revenue was $437.8 million, up from $432.8 million in the previous year.

The company has scheduled its annual meeting for 11 a.m. April 25 in Warren, Michigan. During the meeting, shareholders will vote whether to:

  • elect eight directors to its board.
  • ratify the appointment of Grant Thornton LLP as the company’s registered public accounting firm.
