Former Windstream Execs Acquire Home Energy Rx

2 min read

Making a leap from telecommunications to energy efficiency, two former Windstream executives doing business as Integrated Energy Solutions LLC have acquired Home Energy Rx, a leading residential energy conservation, consulting and construction company based in Little Rock.

Alan Stiefvater, until recently vice president of consumer and small business sales at Windstream, will be CEO of the combined company, which will keep the Home Energy Rx name. Theresa Weiland, who will be COO, was a Windstream senior vice president and shares Stiefvater’s passion for promoting energy efficiency as Home Energy Rx.

Home Energy Rx has an office in Fayetteville and provides energy modeling, conservation and efficiency services for new construction and existing homes.

“We were in telecom for 20-plus years before forming Integrated Energy as a new entity,” Stiefvater told Arkansas Business on Thursday. “At Home Energy Rx, we have an opportunity to educate consumers – offering residential and small-business evaluations and recommendations that can reduce utility costs and improve quality of environment and community.”

According to a news release announcing the sale, for which no financial details were revealed, Home Energy Rx performs diagnostic tests to measure a home’s energy efficiency and provides installation of efficiency improvements to save on energy bills and improve comfort.

“We do Energy Star, HERS and LEED certification, and provide HVAC sales, duct systems and attic insulation for new construction,” Stiefvater told Arkansas Business. “On existing homes, our main focus is as a Trade Ally in the Entergy Arkansas Home Energy Solutions Program.”

“Everyone can benefit from an energy efficiency evaluation,” Weiland said. “Whether you are interested in reducing energy consumption, improving your carbon footprint or saving money, our programs can have a positive impact.”

Stiefvater said the shift from the telecom world made sense because technology has become essential to energy conservation. “Using today’s technology to evaluate a home or building provides a unique insight into the ‘holes’ that exist both literally and figuratively in energy efficiency,” he said. “We are committed to changing the world, one customer at a time.”
