Vestcom International Inc. of Little Rock, which produces shelf-edge price labels for retailers like grocery stores, said Wednesday that it had acquired Integrated Retail Limited ("iRex"), a retail technology company based in the United Kingdom.

Vestcom, which was purchased in 2016 by Charlesbank Capital Partners of Boston, said the deal will help it deliver "clear and consistent content to the shelf edge via multiple forms of media, including digital."

"Integrated Retail Limited is a great fit for Vestcom," John Lawlor, Vestcom's chairman and CEO, said in a news release. "The iRexM3 solution delivers real-time pricing, consistency and compliance, and when combined with Vestcom's existing shelf edge capabilities and footprint, will help us to extend our core capabilities to digital shelf edge media in the U.S., Europe and Asia."

Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.

Before it was taken over by an out-of-state company, Vestcom ranked No. 35 on Arkansas Business' annual list of the state's largest private companies. It reported revenue of $275 million in 2015. It has about 300 employees in Arkansas and 800 nationwide.
