Christina Drale Named Chancellor of UA Little Rock

1 min read

Christina Drale has been named chancellor of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.

She was previously named acting chancellor, following the Sept. 1 resignation of former Chancellor Andrew Rogerson.

The UA Board of Trustees voted to approve UA System President Donald Bobbitt’s recommendation to hire Drale as permanent chancellor at its regularly scheduled meeting Thursday on the University of Arkansas’ Fayetteville campus.

Drale has served as interim executive vice chancellor and provost at UA Little Rock since October 2018. She previously served as associate vice chancellor for faculty relations and administration.

She has a doctorate degree in sociology, a master’s degree in sociology and a bachelor’s degree in communications, all from the University of California in San Diego.

The board authorized Bobbitt to enter into a two-year employment agreement with Drale, which the university will be executed in the coming days. She will also be tasked with identifying a new executive vice chancellor and provost to fill her previous position.
