So there you have it. After a bangin' Friday, Dardanelle native John Daly slowly faded from contention in the PGA Tournament at Southern Hills near Tulsa.

It was an enteraining blast-off for the perennial crowd favorite (four birdies in round one to end the day 3 under), followed by the enevitable crash. But we wager that Daly, who eschews practice rounds when a casino's nearby, wasn't bothered by his finish at 32, despite three bogies and a double on the fourth round. His mood much improved on Sunday, Daly, as usual, has got nowhere to go but up.

Meanwhile, another Arkansas native, Ken Duke, fared better, ending the event 4 over at 18th. Duke nailed three birdies during the final round, but battled against four bogies. His best day was Saturday, when he finished the round at 1 under.

But all eyes were on Tiger Woods, who brings home his 13th major and his fourth PGA title.
