Some Final Touches for Dickey-Stephens

We just got word that on Wednesday workers will add some "final touches" to Dickey-Stephens Park in North Little Rock.

Workers will afix the bronze likenesses of brothers Bill and George "Skeeter" Dickey and brothers Jack and Witt Stephens near the entrance to the new Travelers home, which was built on land donated by Jack's son, Warren, and money provided by a tax in North Little Rock.

Another bronze plaque will contain this quotation: "Two sets of brothers. They worked together, and they played together. They loved each other … Arkansas … and baseball."

The plaque-affixing, or whatever you want to call it, takes place at about 10 a.m. Now if they can get those other clocks in the clock tower installed ...
