There will be no football for Matt Jones the rest of this NFL season.
The wide receiver out of Arkansas had his suspension over his drug case upheld by the NFL on Tuesday, according to profootballtalk.com.
Jones, who was charged during the summer with possession of a controlled substance, reportedly cocaine, after an arrest in a parking lot of the Fayetteville club, agreed to a misdemeanor charge in exchange for taking a drug counseling course for first offenders. Jones was still in violation of the NFL's substance abuse policy, which called for a suspension that he appealed last month. The appeal was denied.
Jacksonville, Jones' NFL team, will conclude the season without making the playoffs. Nevertheless, Jones has been the Jaguars' top receiver with 65 catches for 761 yards.
