ARKANSAS 67, No. 7 TEXAS 61 [Final]

Thanks to Internet troubles at Walton Arena, tonight's live blog was a bust. Arkansas, however, was not.

For the second time in three games, the Razorbacks knocked off a Top 10 team.

[8:33 pm]
Internet is a bit spotty here at Walton Arena. We apologize for the sporadic updates.

Arkansas trails 20-18 with 7:14 left in the opening half.

Surprisingly, the Razorbacks have hung close without point guard Courtney Fortson in the game for long stretches. He’s been in foul trouble and sat for more than seven minutes so far.

So far the Razorbacks are shooting 29.2 percent from the field and are an awful 1 of 6 from behind the three-point line. Texas isn’t much better. The Longhorns have hit just 30.4 percent of their field goals and none of five three-point attempts.

[8:16 pm]  Arkansas leads 13-8 at the first media timeout with 14:08 remaining.

We only thought the crowd for Oklahoma was loud..

WELCOME

Sorry for the late start...

Predictably, the crowd in Walton Arena is loud and fired up for tonight's game with No. 7 Texas.

Couple quick observations...

*Tight end DJ Williams is on the front row of the student section in basketball jersey, cape and headband with face paint on. It's an interesting look from the all-SEC player.

*Coach John Pelphrey is decked out in a red blazer, reminiscent of what former Arkansas Coach Eddie Sutton would have worn back in the 1970s when the Longhorns and Razorbacks were SWC rivals.

*Speaking of Sutton... he's on hand tonight for the game. We've yet to spot him, but hope to track him down before the night is over.
