While former record-setting University of Central Arkansas quarterback Nathan Brown did not hear his named called (he did sign a free agent contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars) during the NFL Dray, a former Bear did get drafted.
The Cincinnati Bengals took Abilene Christian running back Bernard Scott in the sixth round.
Scott, who was the Gulf South Conference Freshman of the Year in 2004 while at UCA, rushed for 1,026 yards and 11 touchdowns on 163 carries in his only season in Conway. He became a victim of the Bears move to Division-I Championship play when he was forced to transfer becase of grades.

Abilene Christian, a Division II school in Texas, had more draft picks (two) than both Arkansas and Tennessee is coached by former UCA assistant Chris Thomsen. The offensive coordinator at ACU is former UCA quarterback Ken Collums while former Bear Joe Walker serves as running backs coach.
