Remember how shocked you were the first time you realized that Buffalo Bills starting safety George Wilson was former Arkansas wide receiver George Wilson?
Wilson has found a way to top that.
Apparently, Wilson has been in Miami filming a music video with R&B superstar Mary J. Blige. Wilson is playing her love interest in the video for her upcoming single "Hood Love."
Seriously.
Here's more from the Buffalo News:
Wilson is looking forward to seeing the finished product. He expects to get plenty of ribbing from teammates.
But it's a price he's willing to pay for having the opportunity to work with one of his favorite singers.
"When you listen to Mary's music you hear the passion, you hear the raw emotion in it," Wilson said. "Meeting her and seeing her work in person on the video set, she carries that same enthusiasm, that same emotion, that same passion you hear in her music. To be able to feed off her emotion and her passion really helped me to lose the butterflies and get in character and get in the moment. That was a great experience."
Teammates might kid Wilson that he's gone Hollywood, but he said that is far from the truth. He is fully committed to his current job with the Bills.
"Maybe this is just something that can give me opportunities in life after football," said Wilson, who started 12 games and posted career highs of 103 tackles and four interceptions last season. "But by no means am I trying to put my career on a backburner in order to focus on music videos or photo shoots. All this stuff I'm doing came from my football platform. I know why I'm in this position and I will keep that in perspective."
Wilson, who ranks among the highest paid professional athletes with Arkansas ties has a knack for surprising people. He walked-on at Arkansas after being passed over by even homestate Kentucky. From there he became an all-SEC performer that has stuck around the NFL after a position switch.
Detroit signed Wilson as an undrafted free agent in 2003. He ended his career with 2,151 yards and 16 touchdowns on 144 catches.
Things have worked out well for Wilson. He ranks on our just-released Arkansas Business list of top-earning athletes with Arkansas ties.

Perhaps we shouldn't be all that suprised by Wilson appearing in a music video and trying his hand at modeling. If memory serves, the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette's Scott Cain did a story on Wilson being an aspiring model back in the day.
