Arkansas quarterback Ryan Mallett got in about 100 reps on Thursday.

No he wasn't taking snaps. Mallett, who has been rehabbing a broken foot this spring, was signing autographs for kids at the Boys and Girls Club as part of a community service day orchestrated by the athletic department.

It's probably good practice for Mallett. He figures to be among the pre-season Heisman Trophy candidates and is projected among the best quarterbacks available for the 2011 NFL Draft.

Getting the autograph down is crucial.

Mallett was among the players selected for the Boys and Girls Club. Other team members went to the Habitat ReStore.

"We were little once and used to love things like this," Mallett said. "We feel it's a great opportunity to give back."

Players at the Boys and Girls Club engaged in recreational activity, plus signed the 2010 schedule poster that will be given out and the Red-White game. It features several players but is centered on the slogan "Get Ready", a nod to the quote given by Mallett when he announced he was returning for the 2010 season.
