It's sunny and 75°. September is here and the 2010 football season is underway:

• Once a starting quarterback for the Arkansas Razorbacks, Nathan Dick threw for 351 yards for the UCA Bears against Elizabeth City for a 47-20 win. Kenneth Robey caught three TD passes in the season opener. Dick finished 26 of 35, and Robey had nine receptions for 151 yards.

• We don't know what Texas College ever did to Ouachita Baptist, but the Tigers stomped the Steers into the Arkadelphia dirt with a 70-0 win. Ouachita found an endless variety of ways to score against TC, with a touchdown on a punt return, several offensive scores and a pair of interception returns for touchdowns. The Tigers recorded 354 yards of total offense, while holding Texas College to just 62 yards total, including -9 yards rushing.

•  Arkansas Tech kicked off its 96th season of intercollegiate football with a 34-19 victory over Lambuth University in front of nearly 5,500 fans at Russellville. With the victory, Tech has now won seven consecutive season openers. In addition, the win was also Tech’s eighth straight victory on its home field dating to the final game of the 2008 season.

• UA-Monticello was the one Arkansas college team to not get a win on Thursday, going down to Gulf South rival, No. 10 West Alabama 27-20. That said, Boll Weevils quarterback Scott Buisson was still able to become the career passing leader at UAM. Buisson finished the contest 28-of-42 through the air for 289 yards with one touchdown and one interception to improve his career total to 7,942 yards. His career passing total now ranks third all-time in the state of Arkansas. Buisson also led the Boll Weevils in rushing with 47 yards on 10 carries.
